Copyright Warning

Library users are hereby notified that copying of library material is governed by Section 12 of the Copyright Act No. 98 of 1978, of the Republic of South Africa which spells out the terms under which copies may be made.

You MAY make a copy for the purposes of research or private study, or for personal or private use, in terms of Section 12 of the Copyright Act No. 98 of 1978, as amended. This is referred to as "fair dealing". You MAY NOT make copies for others.

Although not specified in the copyright legislation, publishers generally permit 10% or one chapter of a book (whichever is the lesser) or one article of a journal to be copied for study and research.

Single copies for a lecturer are permitted within certain parameters set out in the current Copyright Regulations. These copies should be for research and teaching purposes only.

Copyright permission will be required in cases where a lecturer needs multiple copies of a work.

Please inquire at the circulation desk for the procedure.
